Councilmember O’Farrell is passionate about providing housing and a high quality of life to all Angelenos, and he is widely recognized as one of the City’s leaders fighting to address the housing and homelessness crises in Los Angeles.

Under his leadership since taking office in 2013, the 13th District has seen more than 4,000 units of affordable and permanent supportive housing built, approved, financed or under construction, representing 29% of the approximately 15,000 new housing units in that timeframe.

Examples of completed affordable housing projects include Hope on Alvarado and PATH Metro Villas; projects currently under construction include the Hollywood Arts Collective (LINK) and the adaptive reuse of the Hollywood - Western Building; an example of a major project currently in the pipeline includes Enlightenment Plaza (LINK), among others.
