Housing

The homelessness crisis in LA is deeply intertwined with the lack of affordable housing in our city – over 60% of people who become homeless in LA are pushed onto the streets because they are unable to afford rent.

To actually address our homelessness and affordability crises, we need a truly comprehensive approach. That means a services-based homelessness policy to get people off the street for good, strong protections for renters to prevent more families from falling into homelessness, preserving our city’s existing affordable housing stock, and producing more housing, especially affordable housing, across the city.
